David Brainerd diaries and letters, 1732-1783.

Material includes: holograph manuscript diary bound in vellum, 1732-1740; diary leaf 27/28, Kaunameek, 1743 Aug 14-19; diary leaf 26/27?, Stockbridge, Mass., 1744 Apr 27; diary leaves 9/10 and 71/72, Jan 29, Feb 1 [1745 Fall & 1746 Jan]; ALS to William Bradford, 1746 Sept 20, Prince Town, New Jersey; ALS (probably a copy), 1745 Dec 30, Crosweeksung, New Jersey. A photocopy of a typed transcript of leaves from Brainerd's diary made by William A. Clebsch in 1972 accompanies the manuscript diaries. Also included in the collection is an autograph manuscript diary entitled "A Promiscuous Journal," covering the years 1775-1783, possibly written by Elijah Brainerd.
